Education Apprentices provide a unique opportunity for talented individuals with limited or no teaching experience to explore the field of education and to gain hands-on practice and the training necessary to become a successful full-time classroom teacher or sustainability educator.
Spark-Y Interns will work collaboratively within a team under the supervision and mentorship of a Spark-Y Apprentice & Staff Lead to tackle real-world projects within the St. Paul and Minneapolis community. The internship will consist of a week-long orientation followed by 6 weeks of hands-on projects centered around the topics of water stewardship, urban farming/horticulture, and aquaponics broken up by three professional development workshops.
Sustainability Apprentices lead a team of up to six high-school aged interns under the guidance of a Spark-Y educator to tackle real-world projects within the St. Paul and Minneapolis community.
