Welcome to our Online Spring Plant Pre-Sale.  Every tomato, flower, and herb you purchase here today goes to support our mission of youth empowerment.  Thank you for your support!

Pre-Sale Overview: To make sure we have your favorite plants ready to take home the day of our May 5 Plant Sale, we are hosting an online Plant Pre-Sale until April 8. Simply purchase the plants you like below and your order will be packaged and ready for pick-up at our May 5 Plant Sale, from 9am - 6pm. Please note, we do not accept returns or exchanges on plant purchases.

How to Shop Online: Browse available plants below.  Use the drop-down menus to select your preferred variety. Select the quantity you want and click "add to cart." With every selection, your items are automatically added to the cart without having to leave the page. When you are ready, click on your cart to checkout.

How to Shop by Mail: If you prefer to mail in an order form, download and print our Plant Sale Order Form.  Send your order form and payment in to Spark-Y: 4432 Chicago Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55407 by April 8. Your items will also be available for pick-up May 5.

Plant Pre-Sale Catalog:

TOMATOES

Information about our varieties:
Better Boy: Classic high-yielding tomato bred for disease resistance.
Celebrity: Traditional large, bright-red slicing tomato.
Early Girl: Bright red medium sized fruit. Matures early in the season, about 50 days after planting.
Sweet 100: High-yielding cherry tomato perfect for snacking.
Heirloom, Amish Paste: A sweet heirloom cooking or slicing tomato.
Heirloom, Brandywine: Large flavorful blush colored heirloom grown since 1885.
Heirloom, Cherokee Purple: Beautiful large heirloom tomato with deep purple and green hues. Perfect for slicing.
Heirloom, Green Zebra: Looks just like it sounds! Medium sized heirloom tomato with a tart flavor.

 

Tomatoes, 4-Pack:
Includes 4 plants of the same variety.

Tomatoes, 4-Pack Mixed:
Our Heirloom Variety includes 1 of each of the following plants per pack: Amish Paste, Brandywine, Cherokee Purple, and Green Zebra.

Our Traditional Variety includes 1 of each of the following plants per pack:  Better Boy, Celebrity, Early Girl, and Sweet 100.

 

PEPPERS

Information about our varieties:
Peppers, Banana: Medium sized bright yellow pepper with a mild tangy flavor.
Pepper, Ghost: 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units. This is one of the hottest peppers in the world!
Pepper, Habanero: 350,000 Scoville Heat Units. This pepper is often used in hot sauce.
Pepper, Jalapeno: 2,500-5,000 Scoville heat units. This chili is used in many summer recipes!
Peppers, Bell Green: This popular pepper is fantastic for cooking and snacking raw.
Peppers, Bell Red: These sweet, bright red peppers can double as a green pepper, if harvested just before they start turning.

Peppers, 4-Pack: 
Includes 4 plants of the same variety.

Peppers, 4-Pack Mixed:
Our Traditional Mix includes 1 of each of the following plants per pack: Banana, Jalapeno, Bell Green, and Red Bell.
Our Bell Pepper Mix includes 2 of each of the following plants per pack: Green Bell and Red Bell

 

VEGETABLES, OTHER

Information about our varieties:
Cucumber, Pickling: These small, high-yielding fruits are the perfect size for pickling whole.
Cucumber, Slicing: Long fruits with thick skin, perfect for sandwiches or dipping!
Eggplant: This shiny teardrop shaped fruit grows much like a tomato, and can be the star of a great dinner such as eggplant Parmesan.
Squash, Acorn: This winter squash is also known as "pepper squash." It can be used in many autumn dishes.
Squash, Butternut: This nutty flavored squash has a brilliantly orange flesh, and a tan outer skin.
Squash, Zucchini: This summer squash will grow many zucchini if harvested young, or a few very large zucchini if left to grow.

Vegetables, Other, 4-Pack: Includes 4 plants of the same variety.
Broccoli: Fun fact: this vegetable is actually a flower! Enjoy raw, or cooked in a variety of dishes.
Cauliflower: This brassica is a great source of Vitamin C and K. It makes for a fantastic mashed cauliflower dish.
Ground Cherry, Small Husk: Ground cherries (or husk-tomatoes), are sweet lantern-shaped fruits, with small tomato-like orbs inside a paper thin shell. 

Vegetables, Other, 1 Gallon:
Rhubarb: A perennial plant with thick, tart red stocks often used for baking. 

 

FRUIT

Information about our varieties:
Strawberry, Everbearing: These strawberries will continue fruiting throughout the summer, and grow great in a container
Strawberry, June Bearing: This June bearing fruit will produce the most fruit throughout the month of June and has runners that will grow new plants each year.

 

HERBS

Information about our varieties:
Basil: Tastes great in a refreshing caprese salad or margarita pizza recipe!
Chives: With a garlic / onion flavor, this herb can be used for a dab of flavor in any dish. Fun fact: makes for a delicious addition to dips.
Cilantro: Bright green, citrus-flavored leaves make this herb a tasty addition to many summer favorites.
Italian Parsley: The name speaks for itself.  This herb is fantastic for Italian cooking!
Lavender: Beautiful bright purple flowers produce a fragrant smell.
Oregano: This herb is known for its many culinary and medicinal uses.
Rosemary: This perennial herb can be used throughout the summer, and overwinters best indoors. Fantastic for a kitchen herb garden.
Thyme: Subtle and almost minty, this herb is wonderful with poultry and stuffing - and a welcome addition to soups.

MN NATIVES

Information about our MN Native bundles:
Pollination Bundle:  The butterflies and bees in your yard will love you! This pollination bundle includes two plants each of Meadow Blazing Star, Common Milkweed, and Wild Lupine. The butterflies and bees in your yard will love you!

Rain Garden Bundle: These plants are great for absorbing excess nutrients in your yard's runoff. Plant them in low areas, or near gutters for the best results. This rain garden bundle includes two plants each of Obedient Plant, Blue Flag Iris, and Swamp Milkweed.

Full/Part Shade Bundle: These plants will do wonderfully in an area that doesn't get full sun throughout the day. Now you can finally beautify that one shady corner of the yard! The full/part shade bundle includes two plants each of Columbine, Wild Geranium, and Jacob's Ladder.

 

FLOWERS

Information about our varieties:
Daisies: Classic flowers that make for fantastic centerpieces! Leaves can be eaten and are thought to have medicinal properties. Choose from yellow or white.
Geraniums: Used outdoors as a common bedding plant or displayed indoors in a container or basket. Choose from red, salmon, or violet
Impatiens: These double-petaled flowers are popular for containers and baskets. They are great for lightly shaded areas. Choose from pink, red, rose, and salmon.

4-Pack:
Begonias:
These green foliage begonias will add a burst of color to your garden! Choose from red, pink, white, or mixed colors.

4-Pack, Continued:
Marigolds: Marigolds are a natural pest deterrent that tend to keep deer, rabbits, and aphids (among other pests), from devouring your garden. Choose from the following colors: flame, disco red, yellow, and a mix.
Petunias: Petunias are fantastic container, boarder, or bedding flower. Perfect color options for a festive 4th of July - choose from red, white, blue, or mixed.
Pansy Violas: These early-season flowers can withstand temps as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Great for containers and boarders. Choose between blue, and a mixed color variety.
Flower Baskets:  Beautiful blooms and bursts of color that last well into summer. Choose from single variety or sun/shade combo baskets with a mix of color and texture.
